The answer seems pretty clear cut to me. Don't do the procedure. If doctors want to do an operation on a vital, life sustaining but failling part of your body then yes, it's probably for their benefit not yours. Tell them to shove their operation, but make sure you invite them to your soon to be funeral so you can show them how right you were.
