My toe nail keeps growing into my skin. how do I make it stop? ?

My big toe keeps getting infected because of my toenail keeps growing into the skin. My mom makes me get pedicures to try to stop it and the lady usully digs it out but it always goes back. Someone told me to get new shoes because they might be to tight so I wore flip flops for a month and it still got infected. What do I do?!
