Cut my dog while clipping his nails?

My dad was cutting his nails and cut one of his nails to short and it started bleeding really bad, we put it in flour like you are supposed to but it will not stop bleeding. It happened a few hours ago, it is not bleeding as bad as it was, but it still is a little bit. He didn't seem to notice he even got cut when it happened, and he isn't acting like it is hurting him, but he is limping. How can I make it stop bleeding, should I put something on it, and should I rap it up in something so it won't get infected?
