Good anime? (Read more the question is descriptive so don't bother answering if you can't address all.)?

Inuyasha is always recommended. It haves a wonderful Plot, you'll laugh, the action is bada**, & there is romance as you can see for yourself when u watch but it isn't heavy & cheesy. You'll find high ratings online. There are Also movies. Try Inuyasha The movie 3: Swords of an honorable ruler. As you watch the series you'll sort of build a relationship with the characters. I cried when the series finally ended lol. Luckily it was good enough to where unlike other shows it actually showed to the end.
